State-of-the-art mobile racking system
BLS has recently delivered a state-of-the-art mobile racking installation comprising over 13,000 pallet spaces, meticulously designed and distributed across six blocks for Constellation Cold Logistics.
Tailor-made project to meet specific requirements
This project was tailor-made to meet Constellation’s specific requirements, ensuring that both the chassis of the mobile carriages and the load beam components were in the correct profile colour to achieve the desired appearance in the warehouse.
A total capacity of over 13,000 pallet spaces
To enhance storage flexibility, robust wire mesh decking was installed, allowing for the storage of both Bison pallets and Euro pallets. The customer opted for a combination of triple and double pallet stacking, resulting in a total capacity of over 13,000 pallet spaces. The facility also features cold storage capabilities, in addition to options for blast freezing, multiple value-added services, and, for the first time within Constellation Norway, plate freezing and microwave tempering.
Automatic forklift counters – A key feature
A key feature of this facility is the automatic forklift counters, which detect whether one or more forklifts are operating within the working aisles, ensuring smooth and efficient movement. In addition, display cabinets and remote PCs have been installed at each block within the freezer area, equipped with heating elements to ensure optimal machine performance even under cold conditions. The main control cabinets are housed in technical rooms, providing centralised management of the entire system.
BLS met and exceeded the customer's expectations
Throughout the project, BLS worked closely with the customer and contractor to address challenges and deliver the system on time. This collaborative approach ensured that the final product not only met, but exceeded the customer’s expectations, providing Constellation with a flexible, efficient, and visually appealing storage solution.

Strategic location along the E18
Tønsberg is Constellation's third facility in Norway, expanding their geographical reach and providing customers with more options for storing products with them. The strategic location along the E18 connects the facility to the capital, Oslo, and the west coast of the Oslofjord, as far south as Kristiansand.
